Media Cubs meets Tokyo Metropolitan Government!

Our pop-up TV studio and newsroom Media Cubs was honoured to be invited to an information event sharing Manchester’s Young Carer initiatives with delegates from the Tokyo Metropolitan Government.
The event took place Wednesday 26th October and was hosted by Manchester Young Carers Coordinator Kelly Hockaday and Professor Saul Becker of Manchester Metropolitan University at The Barlow RC high in East Didsbury.
Media Cubs was one of two services (the other being the Millennium Powerhouse) invited to share details about their work with young carers – alongside young carers themselves sharing their experiences and The Barlow RC High and St Cuthbert’s primary school explaining their support for young carers in education settings.
Grace, Media Cubs partnerships lead, said: “It was an inspiring morning meeting the delegates and what a fantastic opportunity for Manchester young carers and services to show the work they’ve done in this field.
“What a testament to the young carers for the Director-General of Tokyo Metropolitan Government to state their main objective when they return to Japan is to ensure Tokyo’s young carers are as assured and confident as the Mancunian young carers they met at the event!”
