Proper Good media workshops for social enterprises

Yellow Jigsaw is bringing their community media expertise to a series of ‘Proper Good’ workshops in the new year.

Led by Yellow Jigsaw’s media director Kirsty Day, the two-hour online workshops are designed specifically with social enterprises and charities in mind and are in partnership with Proper Good Wigan – a programme which offers free-to-access business support, networking and training led by entrepreneurs, who know how to run proper businesses that do good in their communities.

Kirsty said: “We know social enterprises are changing how business is being done for the better in Wigan. With our workshops, entrepreneurs will gain the skills and confidence to share that good news in the most effective and professional manner.

“Together, we will take a ‘Proper Good’ look at how to make media work for your social enterprise and give you the skills needed to take your business communications to the next level.”

The award-winning social enterprise’s sessions will begin with ‘Getting your social enterprise picked up by the press’ on Tuesday, February 6. Former MEN Media journalist Kirsty will share her insider knowledge and the secrets to crafting a compelling press release to grab the attention of reporters and readers alike.

The weekly workshops will continue with ‘Create professional marketing materials with Canva’ where you will be guided through Canva’s intuitive interface to create eye-catching graphics, social media posts, presentations, and more.

Showcasing your social enterprise on TV, radio, webinars or social media, or in presentations is a powerful and cost-effective way to get your message across to customers, stakeholders and funders. The ‘Broadcast confidence in interviews and presentations’ workshop will give you the confidence to become the impressive communicator your business and community needs.
