We are delighted to welcome nine new additions to the Media Cubs team!

Media Cubs – the pop up TV studio and newsroom that helps primary school children to broadcast their confidence – has recently completed its first virtual Media Cubs Leaders Academy.

The Yellow Jigsaw-led project has trained leaders to deliver after-school and summer clubs – as well as virtual and weekend clubs – to mini reporters across Greater Manchester and the West Midlands.

The leaders, who can be found on the Media Cubs website, are provided with ongoing training and with a pop-up newsroom complete with green screen, tablet and props to bring the club to life.

Kirsty Day, project lead for Media Cubs, said: “It has been hugely inspiring and exciting working with nine Media Cubs Leaders who share our vision of helping children from all backgrounds create, debate and navigate the news with confidence.

“We can’t wait to create more opportunities for mini reporters to find their voice in a Media Cubs newsroom.”

The project will be launching its second Leaders Academy in June 2021, ready to deliver summer camps in August. For more information, visit the Media Cubs website.
